Food Donation Leadership at My Temple
Food Donation Leadership at My Temple (Past)
I volunteered with a food donation drive at my local temple. I coordinated with volunteers, helped sort donations efficiently, and assisted in distributing packages to underprivileged families. I learned how important servant leadership is, something our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) lessons allowed me to see. I learned from this experience, how being a leader does not mean you have authority, but rather serving a cause greater than yourself. I gained emotional intelligence from this experience, as well as a greater focus on being a community leader.
Helping Lead the Chariot Pull – Festival of India Toronto
Helping Lead the Chariot Pull – Festival of India Toronto (Past)
Taking part in yanking a large traditional chariot as part of the Toronto Festival of India, I guided a team of young volunteers through leading the group, having them pull together at the proper time, involving all of the group, and having them pull safely together. What I learned in class regarding the Stages of Team Development had relevance for this experience. I guided the group along the stages from forming on through performing through continuing communication and generating a sense of shared purpose.
BOH4M Baking Challenge
BOH4M Baking Challenge (Present)
In the Baking Challenge, I had my team design a creative cake. I delegated tasks, handled our limited time, and motivated teamwork under stressful conditions. This was a practical application of the Four Functions of Management. I had to plan ahead with our theme and ingredients, organize roles and tools, motivate my team as a leader, and manage our end product to ensure it was as it should be. I learned through this how leaders make decisions, adapt, and motivate people under stress.
Future E‑Commerce Business Idea
Future E‑Commerce Business Idea (Future)
One of mine is developing an online course on responsibly and risk management development day trading for beginners. I plan on applying all I have learned in class, like applying planning tools like setting SMART goals and SWOT analysis, and handling the course as it would be a project for class. I would apply organizing and planning skills like setting structure for lessons, visuals, and timelines. This connects with what we have learned with regards to entrepreneurship and ethical leadership. This is how I plan on applying my passion as a learning experience for other individuals.
